Translation

How much does it cost?

Pricing for professional translation varies depending on a number of different factors.

These factors include:

We always suggest you sending the text you would like translating beforehand so that we can run an analysis using our translation software – which takes into account factors such as those mentioned above – in order to provide you with our most competitive quote.

How long will it take?

The time it takes to return your translation takes into account both the amount of time required by the translator plus the time required by Andiamo’s in-house team of graduate linguists to complete their quality checks.

Professional translators work at a rate of 2,000 words per day – this is an industry standard and applies to all high quality (human!) translation providers.

If you think 2,000 words per language per day isn’t going to be enough time to meet your deadline, it may also be possible to divide your translation amongst multiple translators.

Please get in touch so we can discuss returning the translation for any particularly tight deadlines.

But I don’t speak the language – how do I know my translation is any good?

We only use professional and experienced translators who have passed our thorough vetting process – so you can be assured that your translation has been completed by one of the best in the business.

However, you don’t have to take our word for it.

We also offer an additional revision service, called our Gold Service, which is essentially an extensive proofread by a second translator, for translations that require that extra quality assurance.

My translation is really technical – can I be assured my translator has translated something like this before?

No matter how technical, your translator will be entirely specialised and completely familiar with the kind of terminology used throughout your text.

This is why before quoting for your translation we always recommend seeing at least a sample of the text to ensure that we can match a translator’s specialism to your text.

Whether it’s heavy legal text, detailed medical reporting or complex data sheets, Andiamo! has a lot of experience in translating specialised, technical documents.

What file formats do you accept?

We translate from almost all file formats.

Most commonly we receive translations in the form of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc.), Adobe InDesign and website files (XML, PHP, HTML etc.).

Whilst we do accept PDF files, editable text files (such as Microsoft Word files) are preferred as these can be analysed more efficiently by our translation software thus saving you money and ultimately time reformatting the files after translation.

Can you translate my PDF brochure?

Yes, Andiamo! offers a complete translation and foreign language typesetting (DTP) service.

We use the latest InDesign and Illustrator software. All we need is your packaged artwork, including the InDesign or Illustrator file/s, fonts and links and we’ll send you a quote. We can deliver outlined artwork files or high-resolution, print-ready PDFs.

Interpreting

I’ve never booked an interpreter before – how much can I expect to pay?

Interpreting costs vary a considerable amount and take into account factors such as:

Can I book an interpreter for less than a full day?

When booking an interpreter you can usually expect to pay for a minimum of three hours interpreting.

However, depending on how regularly the interpreting is to take place, this can be negotiable.

General FAQs

What other services do you offer?

We also offer subtitling and voice-over of corporate or marketing videos. Subtitling your videos in particular is a great, cost-effective way to really impress your clients and prospects.

Do you use freelancers?

All our translations, interpreting assignments and voice-overs are carried out by professional freelancers.

Employing freelancers allows us access to a significantly larger range of language talent in countries all over the world (something that wouldn’t be possible if we just used in-house professionals).

And our recruitment process for freelancers is just as thorough as when we recruit in-house staff.

What are your payment terms?

Payments must be made within 30 days from the date on the invoice we send you.

We usually receive payments by bank transfer, but you can also pay by credit card.

Are you an environmentally friendly company?

Andiamo! makes every effort to minimise its impact on the environment.

We have attained ISO 14001:2015 standard which you can read all about here.

Do you have any other ISO accreditations?
