Spring translation projects round-up
3rd May 2023
Jane Crossley
Spring has been a busy time for Andiamo! with the Projects team managing a variety of projects for clients old and new. So we thought it would be a nice idea to update you on what we’ve been up to.
Our Sales Executive, Maj, has been speaking with a lot of prospective clients about new projects and emphasising the high level of customer service and translation quality they can expect to receive from the whole team. It goes without saying that high-quality translations are key to projects, but we love to demonstrate our commitment to quality right across the board.
We passed our ISO audits with flying colours!
Talking of quality. In the past month we were paid two visits by auditors! The first time was to assess us for ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015, and ISO 17100:2015. The second time was to assess us for the medical device standard, ISO 13485:2016. Happy to say that we passed on both occasions!
A whole range of new translation projects
The Projects team have been embracing the concept of ‘variety is the spice of life’ as they have managed projects for a number of industries, such as automotive, chemical, cosmetics, engineering, food and drink, rail, marketing, medical, publishing, recruitment, as well as toys and games.
Some of these are our key sectors, like automotive and medical translation, but it is nice to have a mix and work on projects with more creative subject matter. It also means that we have the opportunity to work with lots of different translators, maintaining the relationships we have with our vast network of linguists.
What has also been interesting in the world of Projects is the fact that we have managed projects which encompass all kinds of language services: interpreting, subtitling, DTP, translating glossaries as well as post-editing machine translation.
Teamwork brings all our skills together
In addition to this, our ability to work as a team has really been put to the test with some tight deadlines (which we met!), such as Jane’s 16-language 1500-word project, delivered within 24 hours, and projects where each PM had a specific role to play to help make it a success. Plus, we have all become experts in PowerPoint formatting after receiving multiple PowerPoint projects from one of Sarah’s regular clients!
The fact that we work so well as a team is reflected in the feedback we receive from our clients, such as one of our new clients Applied Thermal Control who said, “Maciej has always responded quickly to any queries, providing all the information that we required to make our decision. Maciej worked with our requirements to build a service that worked for our needs and budget, and we’re looking forward to working with Andiamo! again in the future. Elizabeth kept us updated with the progress of translation, and we received our first documents well within the agreed timeframe.”
New Projects Team member and more training
I have been keeping up to date with what’s going on in the language industry by attending webinars, such as the informative European Language Industry Survey results seminar.
Last but not least for the projects round-up, we also welcomed Hannah to the Projects team! She has been working with us as a Vendor Controller since last year and has recently been promoted to Project Manager. She is looking forward to meeting her clients and getting stuck in to her new role! We’ve also just appointed another Project Manager who will be joining us in June. More details to come later!
